My son was born a heavy breather, and snored from a very young age. I didn’t think much of it at the time, but it turned out to be enlarged tonsils, and adenoids that were causing the problem. We also found out he was having sleep apnea.

I know how frightening sleep apnea can be. As a mother of a young son with sleep apnea I had many a sleepless nights. Not only did I worry, but my son didn’t sleep well either and every time he would wake up at night he would come to me. Something to also keep in mind is that snoring and sleep apnea can often be caused by enlarged tonsils or adenoids.

Living with sleep apnea is really tough, but a CPAP can really help a lot. I got one about a year back and its helped tremendously. I definitely agree that its a good idea to see a medical specialist.
